This public sector organisation is urgently looking to recruit an interim Head of Internal Communications to report into the Director of Marketing and Communications and work as part of a busy communications team. 

The role is to develop strategy and planning, managing and delivering internal communications across the entire organisation and to manage the effective communication of corporate strategy and top level messages to staff at all levels.  The post holder will proactively advise and challenge the executive team, helping devise, initiate, craft and co-ordinate key messages.   Key deliverables include increasing staff understanding of the organisation, advising on, coordinating and overseeing all major internal communications programmes and activities, ensuring that the full range of internal communication channels is developed and exploited fully.  You will also provide leadership and support to line managers in the organisation to ensure they translate and apply these key messages for their staff.  Other key accountabilities include establishing and developing an internal communications network to involve key staff from across the organisation in the development of internal communications and to measure effectiveness of activities and managing and developing the intranet in partnership with the IT department.  To be considered for this role it is essential that you have knowledge of best practice in internal communications and have the ability to apply this in different organisations; the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences at all levels and the ability to advise and communicate with senior management; the ability to think strategically, budget planning and control, excellent presentation skills and excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
