There’s an eclectic mix of personalities that makes up our team, including: novice travellers, shopaholics, Leicester City supporters, budding authors, water polo players, fashionistas, interior designers, friends of the earth, telly addicts, elephant fanatics and chocoholics.
Each member of the 2nd City team has a specific role to play to ensure we run a tight ship and provide the highest level of service to our clients and candidates. We have a West Midlands team and an East Midlands team, each tasked with building the best knowledge of the businesses in their region. To differentiate ourselves from other recruiters we take the time to understand the difficulties faced by employees involved in negotiating the M42 every morning – or how unfeasible Market Harborough to Mansfield can be. And this is because we are all Midlands born and bred. We take the time to put ourselves in our candidates’ shoes....
The regional teams also have dedicated consultants for Permanent and Interim recruitment. This means we are able to offer a comprehensive service for businesses that have a requirement for both. By building relationships with our candidates and understanding their requirements we can automatically consider the right applicants for the right roles. Our consultants’ are either experienced recruiters or experienced marketers – so they can fully appreciate the brief of the vacancies and the skill-set of the candidates. Although we each recruit for a specific geographical area, we share information internally and work as one large team. Therefore you will probably have conversations with more than one consultant to ensure all possible avenues are considered.
With the needs of our candidates in mind we also employ a Candidate Manager who monitors all of our applications, develops an in-depth knowledge of the individuals’ requirements and maintains a regular contact plan. She is accessible for candidates to contact when they want to catch-up, so you should always have someone within the company to talk to. Vital to our success, this individual will make sure that we maintain open & honest dialogue with the people that matter most – our candidates.
Equally important to supporting the high level of service we provide is our payroll department. Temporary workers rely on punctual pay, and the processing of timesheets and weekly payments on time and correctly is no mean feat!
